Guidelines for the Enchanted Ground Encampment
Greetings, and welcome to the Enchanted Grounds! The Shire of Nahrun Kabirun invites you to a weekend immersed in the pre-16th century world. Within these grounds the modern world does not exist. To make this possible we ask that you adhere to the following rules, no matter if you’re camping or just visiting with us.
The following are strictly forbidden:
- Modern tents
- tablets, cellpones; gaming devices or other electronics.
- Modern cooking equipment
- Modern discussion: mundane happenings, politics, etc.
Mundane items must be disguised or covered at all times.
These include, but are not limited to:
- Camp coolers
- Tables and camp chairs
- Drinks: soda cans, alcohol containers, etc.
- Modern lights
This is not a complete list. You may be asked to put away any modern items left out in the open. What you have inside your tent is your business. If we can’t see it, you’re good.
You’re appearance is also important within the Enchanted Grounds. These rules are for those camping as well as visiting so that we can maintain the pre-16th century atmosphere. Exceptions are always made for health and safety reasons. If you need modern equipment to get around you are more than welcome to bring those items into the Enchanted Grounds. Please make an effort to look as period as possible. Your outfit, head to toe, must pass the “10 foot rule.” Modern footwear that looks period is acceptable. However, if you’re wearing tennis shoes you may be asked to leave. Do keep in mind that a hat works well for “medieval sunglasses.”
Failure to follow any of the rules or dress code and you may be asked to leave the Enchanted Grounds.
If you have any questions or would like to camp in the Enchanted Grounds please contact Lady Idunn Hallsdottir.
